Erica is a former professional dancer, and the discipline and devotion she was accustomed to in her dance career made for an easy transition into CrossFit. Her main focus as a coach is to support our athletes by being a strong role model and to instill the confidence and strength they need to help them grow both physically and mentally.

"I took my first ballet class at age 4, and for the next 25 years it defined who I was. I danced 6 days a week, sometimes every day, for at least 3 to 4 hours. I took classes, rehearsed, competed, performed, and after college I danced professionally. Many people don't consider dance a sport - I always thought of it as an art. But the training, discipline, self-motivation, and determination required in dance is as rigorous and demanding as any sport. During my career as a New Jersey Devils Dancer, one of my teammates took me with her to a CrossFit class. I was instantly hooked. While on the surface you might think a dancer would not enjoy this type of training, CrossFit was an activity that resonated with me. It matched the things I loved about dance: perfecting movement patterns, working out at a high intensity, and focusing my attention on each detail of each movement.

While I embraced my dance life and thrived in it, CrossFit has opened up an entirely new type of environment for me. The CrossFit box is encouraging and motivating to all athletes, regardless of skill level. When you work on CrossFit skills you are only competing with your own previous achievements. There is such a strong camaraderie and beautiful spirit of encouragement among the athletes. CrossFit embodies so many of the philosophies that I have always tried to live by: working hard, developing strength, eating healthy, being self motivated. I want to share that mindset with others. I hope to bring a unique perspective to CrossFit TreeHouse: focusing on combining strength and fitness with grace. As a female coach, I want to be a role model to other women aspiring to find their confidence and strength. I look forward to helping each athlete I coach as they move their lives forward in a positive direction in both mind and body."
