"I began lifting weights as a junior in high school after choosing AWT (Advanced Weight Training) as an elective. I quickly realized that I was training with the school's wrestling team, which included people much larger than me - I remember going in at 130 lbs, not being able to lift much and had no idea what I was doing. But the progress and the results of my hard work started to show - and I was hooked. I continued weight lifting throughout college until my first job, then quickly put on weight because I did not continue visiting the gym. I participated in a number of 5K runs but my body was still not where I wanted it to be.

Frustrated with the repetitiveness of a regular gym and hitting plateaus with my progress, I didn't know how to change it up and keep my body progressing until I got invited to try CrossFit. The first free trial got me hooked and I also couldn't believe how hungry I was after the first workout! I enjoyed the variety and environment, everyone was so inviting and supportive - and in the first 3 months I lost 30 pounds, and I saw lots of the improvements I was originally looking for.  I attended CrossFit at least 3 times per week and enjoyed every class, each containing a unique variety of movements and athletes.

When I joined CrossFit TreeHouse this past February, I immediately noticed the community surrounding CFTH - and when the opportunity arose to become a coach, I took it in hopes that one day I can help someone new discover CrossFit and all that it can offer, oh and also to become part of the community!"
